Association of Illustrators' Images 2009 

Images 2009, the Best of British contemporary illustrators, is calling for entries and wants to see what you're proud of. So dig out your old favorites or use this rain as an excuse to sit inside and create a new work of genius. Deadline 1 August.

The Association of Illustrators' Images is the most comprehensive and prestigious illustration award in the UK. This annual awards show and exhibition is dedicated to showcasing the very best contemporary illustration published in the UK.

Categories have been expanded this year and include the following eight categories: Advertising, Books, Children's Books, Design, Editorial, New Media, Self-Promotion and New Talent. Also there are prizes worth £900 for the student section.

This is Britain's only jury-selected illustration competition where selected work will be promoted to 4000 commissioners through the Images annual. The jury consists of nine of the most respected personalities in the industry, with each judging multiple sections.  (Joanna Stevens)
