Eden Arts Cafe

Eden Arts Café celebrates its first birthday on September 4th with music maestros of the South West, Jelly Jazz, throwing one of the biggest parties Eden has ever seen.

From its humble beginnings, Eden Arts Cafe has grown steadily and consistently whilst grabbing attention and acclaim from environmentalists, artists, ravers, party people, and the press alike.

Now a year on, the birthday bash will move from its usual haunt in The Core at Eden to a much bigger space at The Link. Sandwiched between the spectacular Jungle and Tropical Biomes, it's sure to be the perfect setting for a funk-fuelled party.

The Apples to play Eden Arts Cafe

Headlining music comes from nine-piece instrumentalists, The Apples. With a mixing pot of funk, hip hop, big band jazz, rock and turntablism, they've gained global support from renowned DJs such as Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, A Skillz and Mr Scruff. Originally from Israel, the band are bringing their signature explosive live experience all the way to Eden for one night only.
Supporting acts include Cornwall's very own up-tempo funk band, The Underbelly. The band has played high profile gigs both nationally and internationally, including the Jazz World stage at Glastonbury this year. Now they're back on home soil and ready to celebrate.

Resident Jelly Jazz DJs Pete Isaac and Griff will also play alongside live graffiti from the hugely talented Mau Mau as well as visuals from Micasamovi and local video artist, Lee Hodges.

"It really is a unique club night experience, in fact not really a club, but more of a festival on a small scale," says Jelly Jazz' Pete Isaac. "The combination of live music, DJs, art, film, photography, participation and the ability to talk with representatives from organisations such as Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and so on makes for a very rounded night out! I'm very proud to have Jelly Jazz at this session."

If you've never been to Eden before, this may just be the perfect time to do so. (Rachel James)
