Stranger is proud to be involved with Board Shorts for the third year running. If you didn't already know, Board Shorts is the Cornwall Film Festival's hugely popular surf/skate/snowboard film event - and this year, everyone who goes to Board Shorts will receive a free copy of Lick, a special zine from Stranger and Rip Curl.

The event takes place 8 November at the Sandsifter  in Godrevy, Cornwall and will feature a series of short films and slide shows selected to inspire all. This year's event welcomes international entries as well as the very best of British talent. Winning films will be selected for the main screening by a panel - including Mark Kermode (from The Culture Show), and top surfers Alan Stokes and Eliot Dudley) - who will also be awarding prizes to the most outstanding talent. 

Screenings will be followed by a live performance from Mark Kermode's skiffle band, the Dodge Brothers, and Sir Vinyl of the Fattest DJs until late. We've also organised the Stranger Prize Draw, and will be giving one lucky person a surfing holiday for two in Spain, courtesy of Errant Surf. And as last year saw the event considerably over subscribed again, with humongous queues at the door, this time the capacity has trebled to squeeze you all in.

The great thing about Board Shorts is that, no matter what your waveriding skills and prejudices, everyone can come together, hoot, holler and share the stoke at the amazing waves and talent on display. (Joanna Stevens)
