Fancy seeing the Guillemots improvising live alongside some groundbreaking short films, followed by a full-on gig? This is a fantastic - and rare - opportunity to catch one of the UK's hottest talents playing in Cornwall at the Carnglaze Caverns and Princess Pavilion on 19 and 20 November, and we've got two tickets to give away... The Guillemots play two performances in Cornwall: Carnglaze Caverns (Liskeard) on 19 November and Princess Pavilion (Falmouth) as part of the "Fishbone for a drink tour".The Mercury Prize-nominated Guillemots' first headline show in the region (they've already played popular support slots at the Rip Curl Boardmasters and Eden Sessions) is presented in association with Future Shots, one of the leading and most creative short film labels in the UK. The seated performance opens with the screening of short films accompanied by a live improvised soundtrack by the Guillemots, followed up by a full Guillemots performance. The idea of playing in Carnglaze Caverns came after the Guillemots decided to search for unusual and atmospheric venues to perform their tour gigs. "The band were looking for unusual venues to play on this tour," says Katy Thomas from promoters SW1 Productions. "They'd already asked us about Princess Pavilion as they'd heard it had a bandstand, and they loved the idea of playing in a cave." The inspiring union of film and live music has reinforced Guillemots reputation as one of the most innovative pop bands of their generation. The Cornwall performances join performances in public libraries and converted cinemas as part of a series of alternative venues across the country to play host to the unique "Fishbone for a Drink" tour.
