A brand new party from the man behind the curtain and two-headed DJ
outfit Jac the Disco - quite simply two of the best and most respected
DJs/promoters in the UK electro club scene - is coming to the
Sandsifter this month, on 20 December. Quoted as "one of the best underground club nights in the capital", this cracking party promises to bring people with an adamant refusal to grow up "cutting-edge, genre-defying electronic dancing music from the big smoke and beyond to the ears and feet of the South West..." On top of all that, you'll be
treated to silver service Battenberg cake by a Panda and free whiskey
courtesy of MHKC sponsors Makers Mark. It doesn't get much better than that now, does it boys and girls?
Here's the line-up for the launch party:
[Back room - blood pumping cross-genre electro]
THICK AS THIEVES: this duo recently won Groove Armada's prestigeous Lovebox competition, run one of the country's hottest club nights [Voodoo] and, with major label interest, are destined for world domination.
URCHINS: you can't pigeonhole this pair. Signed to Potty Mouth Music and highly in demand for their remix mastery, they are also the UK correspondents for the mighty Palms Out Sounds, the biggest music blog out there.
JAC THE DISCO: their four decks of dancefloor destroying cross-genre electro mayhem has quickly gained a reputation for quality that is loved by party rockers everywhere from Cornwall to London to Ibiza
[Whilst in the front bar... panda baiting disco funk]
HONG KONG PING PONG: a DJ collective born from NSB Radio's 'Beating The Crates' who have a penchant for all things funky, rooting it out wherever it can be found.
Plus an exhibition by super-talented St Ives artist Sam Bassett, who'll be showcasing some new work based on conversation, misplaced text and current affairs, using a mix of traditional methods with a feeling of contemporary illustration.
9pm till 3am
Tickets £5 available from Sandsifter, Academy - St Ives, and Jam - Falmouth
