Tony, 42 from Penzance, is attempting to break the record for the longest phone call by holding an ongoing conversation with a Tesco Store in London.

Customers at the Kensington Tesco are taking it in turns in 20-minute slots to talk to the 42-year-old. Mr Wright said: "I have a great feeling about this record," says Mr Wright, "the current record sits at 39 hours, I think I can absolutely smash that.”

It seems that Tony’s last record attempt, which saw him stay awake for 11 days and claim the world record for the longest period without sleep, may have sent him doolally – after all, who in their right mind would want to do this and what about the phone bill? Still at least it’s all in a good cause, Tesco is to donate £100 to the British Red Cross for every hour Mr Wright spends talking. He'd better yabber on...
