David Cornthwaite is on a 4000 mile long trip skateboarding across Australia
David Cornthwaite
You might remember David Cornthwaite from issue 10 of Stranger. He, along with his trusty longboard (‘Elsa’) decided to skate from John O’ Groats to Lands End after waking up one morning, contemplating another day in a drab office and realising that “enough was enough”. A lot of planning, a bit of press and many, many miles later (900 in fact) and Dave was feeling a little more satisfied with things. Not satisfied enough though, evidently...

Turns out the British skate was only a warm up – Dave has now embarked on a monstrous 4000 mile long trip across Australia, from Perth to Brisbane, raising money for several charities in the process. Currently averaging around 40 miles per day, the trip has been a momentous one. Dave has so far managed to impale his foot with a spike (while posing for a photo…as you do), meet the cast of Neighbours and, oh yeah, break the world skateboarding distance record. All being well, he should reach Brisbane on 20 January. To catch up on all the latest news, meet the team and donate just check out www.boardfree.co.uk
