We're throwing a little bash to launch our special illustrated Christmas cards for ShelterBox - and we'd love you to come along! However, we've now picked a winning design to accompany the five illustrations generously donated by Geoff McFetridge, Jon Burgerman, Marcus Oakley, Jenny Bowers and Nick Radford. The final designs and prize-winning illustration will be unveiled at The Poly, Falmouth on Thursday 11 November between 6-8pm, and to celebrate (and thank everyone who's helped us on the way) we'd love you to come along and quaff some delicious mulled cider (generously donated by Cornish Orchards) and mince pies with us (thanks to the lovely folks at Stones Bakery). There'll also be some live old school rock n' roll from some of our favourite Stranger Social musicians and a prize for the person sporting the best Christmas jumper! Plus, of course, the opportunity to buy yourself a pack or two of Christmas cards, raising vital funds to support ShelterBox's disaster relief work across the world - from Haiti to Indonesia, Pakistan to Guatemala. If you fancy making a night of it, The Poly's new monthly stand-up comedy night MIRTH CONTROL follows on at 8pm. We've arranged for special discount tickets (£6 instead of £8) for Stranger guests, so This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you'd like us to save you one. If you can't make it to the launch, the cards will be available through our new online shop from Friday 12 November, as well as a number of selected stockists across the UK. Thanks again to our generous sponsors, Cornish Orchards and Stones Bakery. Cornish Orchards produce quality hand-crafted apple juices and ciders using the harvests of small and old orchards across the West Country.
