The debut album by Damon Albarn’s newly formed supergroup The Good The Bad And The Queen has been officially released onto Napster today (12 January), ten days prior to going on general sale. The band features a who’s who of modern music, including former Clash god, sorry bassist, Paul Simonon, Fela Kuti drummer Tony Allen (who Blur paid homage to on their single ‘Music Is My Radar’), Simon Tong from The Verve, and the tall one out of Gnarls Barkley (producer extraordinaire Dangermouse). Stranger has heard the album and expects it to be…popular with music fans. Yep. Particularly those who like the bands mentioned above. Expect a more explanatory review in Stranger 13, which comes out on 14 February. If you can’t wait for that then you can buy the album now by signing up to Napster here. |
