The planes are prepared, ready to take off. Their passengers are getting restless - too long in the departure lounge, twiddling thumbs, imagining where the flight will take them. Conditions have to be right, not perfect or pristine, but right. This is a new venture, new wings, new experiences on offer. So for now we wait. The handplane experiment formed from a simple idea. Filmmaker Shayne House, Seed Surf Co. shaper Mikey Koskela and writer Clare Howdle all keen on exploring the world of waveriding from the wood up; to make, shape and ride handplanes and to record it as we go. So here we are. Planes primed, riders itching - just left praying for waves. A sneak preview of the boards, ready and waiting. The only thing that's left is to get them wet.
Soon, my pretties... Check out the handplanes carved from scratch, in the first Stranger handplane blog, Is it a Bird... Come and admire the handplanes for yourself, find out more about the project and see a trailer for the film at Seed Surf Co.'s open day on the 18th June. Find out more.
