Kirsty Wood Creative Producer at Stranger Collective

We're really happy to welcome Kirsty Wood, the latest member of the Stranger team. Kirsty has just started with Stranger Collective as the brand new Creative Producer.

Kirsty joins us after returning home from five years living it up in Australia, where she worked in similar roles with top advertising agencies such as BMF (last year named Australia’s agency of the decade!) and Razor, where she worked on projects for Flip Video, Nike, Perrier, V05, TRESemme, Mitsubushi and Nestle.

“It’s fantastic to be back in Cornwall after all this time and see how Cornwall is pushing forward as a big player on the national and international creative scene,” says Kirsty. “I’m really excited to have found a role at Stranger Collective that enables me to make the most of the skills and experience I gained while I was away, in a vibrant, influential and fun Cornish agency. Stranger is going through some exciting change and there are some really fabulous jobs in the pipeline that I can’t wait to get stuck into.”

Starting at Stranger HQ last month, organisational guru Kirsty is responsible for project managing the agency’s current client work (including Port Eliot Festival, Origin, Dott Cornwall, University College Falmouth and ShelterBox) whilst also developing the business, hunting-out new accounts, producing a stylish new website and launching a special set of alternative Christmas cards in November to raise money for ShelterBox.

Kirsty found the job through Unlocking Cornish Potential and she speaks highly of them. “I was really impressed to discover the UCP scheme when I returned to Cornwall,” she says. “The support and training they offer is so valuable and has allowed me to meet an incredible network of people and organisations. The level of jobs they’re helping create in the county is clearly a big factor in the progress I’ve seen since coming home.”

Born out of Stranger Magazine’s success, Stranger Collective conceives and produces creative communication campaigns and manages new brand, design and website projects for a wide range of clients including iTunes Live, Time Out, Guava, the NHS, Sony BMG and the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, and Kirsty will now be in charge of producing lots more interesting projects.

“I’m really pleased to welcome Kirsty to the Stranger team,” says Helen Gilchrist, director of Stranger Collective. “She has a very impressive track record and her joining the team marks the beginning of an exciting new era for Stranger.”
