Their compositions, both abstract and melodic, are punctuated with analogue keyboard sounds, Hendrix-esque saxophone, death-metal drums and stark lyrics. With some raw-as-a-steak-that-still-moos production it's not exactly a jazz purists cup of tea, so ignore any comparisons to John Coltrane you may have heard. Interesting, bordering on genius, if a little 'out there'; stick it in your pipe and smoke it if you dare. (Nick Radford)

Leading the field of a new and very British post-punk revivalist movement, this lot are honing a raw, genre-transcending sound.
