Polar Bear is an album that sometimes sounds like classic improvised jazz, invoking an era of true musicianship and musical exploration. There are two tenor saxophonists, a drummer, and a double bassist who combine to create a rich and earthy sound. However, times move on and this is not a jazz
band stuck in the past, but one that has embraced technology and has
incorporated some pretty bizarre sounds into the mix. Leafcutter John
adds some random electronics to the album and this is jazz cross bred
with an Atari. Grab your finest bottle of whisky and some artsy friends and put this on. (Jaqueline Wild) Recommended tracks: Links:

Polar Bear has a dreamy quality which filters in and out of your consciousness.
There are times when it's quite unobtrusive and meanders into the
background, but then it spirals out again with some quirky twitchiness,
reminding you that you are listening to something unconventional.
