Stranger is evolving.

Hello. Exciting stuff has been happening here at Stranger Collective which means we need to make a glut of changes to our website.

Things are starting to take shape, but until we're ready to share what it's all about please feel free to look around the existing website. You'll be able to find out more about where the Collective has come from, what we've been up to over the last eight years and where we're headed.

See you on the other side...

Reviews - Music

SpeedometerLeigh Gracie, writer, producer and guitarist of Speedometer, sits behind the wheel of their third LP, revving the V8 engine at full funk throttle to cut loose down the same old road.

Things start off slow, but it's 0 to 60 in a matter of seconds with some driving vocals and solos over the usual super-heavy, furious grooves; the title track is a latin funk stomping instrumental belter!

Memphis soul man Robert Moore, responsible for the classic funk-bomb, 'Cramp Your Style', thumbs a lift while in the UK and lays down a couple of fine vocals; leaving Speedette singer Ria Currie to sock it to 'em for the remaining tracks. A good mix of instrumentals and vocals throughout; among the original material are a couple of covers including The Meters 'Same Old Thing'!which just about sums it up.

But there's no denying Speedometer are clocking up some mileage to become one of the leading contenders of the blue-eyed funk family. (Nick Radford)
