The Killers - SawdustA rarities and b-sides album may seem like an obvious cash in, but if you’re one of the millions to fall for the charms of Mr Brandon Flowers and co., chances are you won’t mind treating yourself to this collection of tunes.

Throughout the four years (2003-2007) that the four-piece from Las Vegas evolved from a garage band to Glastonbury headliners, they’ve written the kind of songs that Oasis once did – instantly memorable.  But for the odd duff track, there’s plenty of songs here to keep more than just die hard fans happy.

'Change Your Mind is a frightening reminder of just how packed with singles breakthrough album Hot Fuss was.  The fact that it wasn’t included should serve as a reminder of the strength of Flower’s song writing skills.  'Who let you go?' sounds like an old favourite within seconds and the previously unheard version of 'Glamorous Indie Rock n Roll' will bring a smile to anyone who’s seen the band live.

Love them or hate them, Sawdust is far better than you might expect.  With this release, they can only attract new fans. (Tim Hill)
