Stranger is evolving.

Hello. Exciting stuff has been happening here at Stranger Collective which means we need to make a glut of changes to our website.

Things are starting to take shape, but until we're ready to share what it's all about please feel free to look around the existing website. You'll be able to find out more about where the Collective has come from, what we've been up to over the last eight years and where we're headed.

See you on the other side...

UNFORSCENE - FINGERS AND THUMBSMarking Unforscene's debut on Tru Thoughts, Fingers and Thumbs creates a low fi cinematic soul soundscape infused with broken beats, jazz, electronica, funk, soul, folk, blues, and then some.

Formed 10 years ago by brothers Will and Benji Bower (and later joined by Ben Muscat), you may already be familiar with a track they produced with Alice Russell featured on her Under the Munka Moon II LP. The track also features on Fingers and Thumbs, along with other collaborations with JTodd and Epcot (on a soul and hip hop tip respectively).

What we have here is some innovative production layering modern and classical influences; an eclectic mix of compositions and musical directions making for never a dull moment. Certainly in keeping with the Tru Thoughts sound, yet retaining originality throughout, it is no surprise their work has provided the soundtrack for high profile shows on BBC1, BBC3 and Channel 4 (amongst others). If there was a cinematic electronic soul section in the record shop, you might find this LP there - but as it proves seemingly impossible to pigeonhole, it could be stuck anywhere. Nevermind where they put it, go and support your local record shop, it's really not that much cheaper online after all the postage, and record shop owners are nice people who will tell you where it is or can order it in for you.
