With a 90-minute documentary charting the history of the genre, 80-minutes of live concert footage and a 13-track album, the passion put into this release is impossible to ignore. The CD is peppered with the likes of Lee Perry, Bush Chemists and Zion Train, resonating a hard-hitting, mechanical ambience. There are also a few continental offerings from Switzerland's Cultural Warriors and French dubsters Zenzile. Thankfully, the pervading mission of Dub
Stories is to create a comprehensive resource, rather than a lecturing
lesson in history. Educating yourself has hardly ever been so much fun. (Holly Wicks)
