CAMP BESTIVAL 'Camp Bestival' has released line up information for this years innaugral event that suggests this new shindig (run by the same people as 'Bestival' - Isle of Wight), may turn out to be one of the best options for party goers this summer.

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Lulworth Castle the festival, sorry, bestival, offers one of the most eclectic line ups we've seen for ages and also offers a whole other range of weird and wonderful activities to keep boys, girls, mums, dads and even your granny satisfied.

On Friday night, they've got Chuck Berry performing. Berry is one of the true key figures in turning rock n roll music into what it is today and what it has been for over half a century. The fact that the man still runs around the stage like a lunatic is a true testament to the spirit of rock n roll. Expect 'Jonny B Goode','Roll over Beethoven' and a whole lotta shake rattle and roll.

The forefathers of experimental US Indie the Flaming Lips headline the Saturday and then Kate Nash will close Sunday night, bringing everyone back to the 21st Century with her sassy outtake on modern life. Other performers of considerable note include Billy Bragg, The Wurzels, Manchester's Gideon Conn and the new 'kings of New York disco' Hercules and Love Affair. Beatbox sensation Beardyman will also be strutting his stuff.

Camp Bestival are keen to offer more than just music, so for your enjoyment there will be a knitting tent (including lessons), a science fair, some of the top names in modern literature performing spoken word and even a comedy tent named 'Jestival'.

Camp Bestival has only 10,000 tickets available, so expect all the above in a friendly, intimate atmosphere. What with a local farmers market and all sorts of appetising food stalls on hand, the nosh looks amazing too. (Tim Hill)
