Indig02, Greenwich, London, 26-27 September
Amongst the likes of JFB and DJ Switch it was DJ Skully who finished victorious. Skully first won the UK battle for Supremacy in 2000 and will now battle it out in the solo category against DJs from around the world. But this year DJ Switch will be the one looking to grab the Supremacy title, which is an offshoot of the main championships where DJs compete head-to-head rather than the usual sequence format. And what is the usual format? Well, each DJ gets six minutes to show off their skilfully choreographed routine, mixing up all sorts of music genres from hip hop to folk!
Whether you're a turntablism expert or a record scratching virgin, the DMC championships are going to be a lot of fun. Better seen live, DJ events like this one only come around once a year. So go forth and watch these skill masters try and win the world cup of scratching. (Amy McGuire) C2C DMC 2005
