Does Red Bull really give you wings?  Think you can make it across the Serpentine river, Hyde Park, in front of 80, 000 people on an aircraft you've personally made? The 2nd London 'Flugtag' championships is on June 7th this year.

Not that June 7th is the only important date for this years festival of flying, if you don't register for tickets from April 1st onwards, you won't even get in to watch.   Watching people attempt, and predictably fail, to cross a river has never been more fun – or popular.  Get registered asap to avoid disappointment.

The 'Flugtag' festival now takes place in 20 major cities worldwide and has become a renowned good natured day at the park. It's all free and fantastically silly.  There is a serious side to it though, of course, as all competitors will be looking to become crowned 'Red Bull Flugtag Champion of 2008'

The competition will be judged on both the distance flown as well as level of creativity.  Extra brownie points will also be awarded to teams for the most unique costumes and overall pre-flight performance, originality will be key when trying to sway the votes of the both the celebrity judges and the crowd.
