This year sees the launch of a new independent festival which is focusing on championing new music and offering a unique alternative to the busy world of corporate music events.

The organizers of 'Redfest' (situated near Redhill, Surrey) have a ticket limit of 5,000 and are keen to give the ipod generation a chance to visit a festival that's not  draped in marketing slogans, gimmicks and overpriced food stalls.

Music, is the key.  Mostly featuring acts that are yet to break into the mainstream, there will be something for everybody.  Indie, rock, electro and dance are promised as upstarts such as The Maccabees, Late of The Pier, Lightspeed Champion and the brilliant Fear of Music take to the main stage.
