A feast for your eyes and a devil of a temptation for your wallet, this showcase of contemporary design flaunts the wealth of talent that our designer-maker community has to offer. The Hidden Art Cornwall Design Fair returns this year to Godolphin House over the August bank holiday weekend. Presenting a wide range of furniture, interior products, lighting, ceramics, glass, jewellery, textiles and fashion accessories, over 100 designers-makers will exhibit, alongside Hidden Art Curated and the Cream of the Crop exhibition of Falmouth University’s graduate design work. Hidden Art Curated is an exhibition presenting contemporary design in an unconventional context – in the historic rooms of this ancient manor house. Guest curators from a range of backgrounds have been invited to collaborate with Hidden Art Cornwall on the project. Each curator will select a room or exterior space at Godolphin and develop their own brief for the project, inspired by the setting of the house. The venue, Godolphin House (c1475), is one of Cornwall’s oldest homes and is now owned by the National Trust. It is a grade-one listed mansion, set in rare and ancient gardens. Don’t miss this chance to mosey around as the Design Fair is one of a few events around which the house will be open to the public. Click here for more information about Godolphin. (Joanna Stevens) |
