Hendra Holiday Park, Newquay, 7–9 November
If
there was ever an opportunity for north and south to join forces in an
electronic ‘car-alarm techno’ meets ‘art rocker’ fashion, White Noise
Electronic music festival in Newquay is it.
Amongst this year’s line-up, at least four bands are heading down from Sheffield, proving that it’s not only say-it-how-it-is bands like the Arctic Monkeys and Bromheads Jacket to emerge from the steel city’s musical underworld. Hiem, I Monster, The Pony Harvest, and Jarvis Cocker/ Jason Buckle join visitors from Glasgow, Finland, and even Columbia at this live event.
Also unleashing their electro-fuelled music on Cornwall are, Damo Suzuki, The Asbo Kid, The Nitewreckers, Agaskodo Televerik, Vars of Litchi, Beat Frequency, The Dub Chieftain, S.C.U.M 1968, Barry 7, Woodcraft Folk,The Jash Band aka DJ White Noise, Dadanoys, HK119, KUMO, Space Junk Rockers, and Contra Mundum.
Hendra Holiday Park is hosting the event and is set in beautiful Cornish surroundings, with awards won for being carbon neutral. They have luxury accommodation available, which is something not usually experienced at festivals. And with a slogan that states ‘No Rain. No Water. Just Anoraks’, White Noise Electronic music festival is a great opportunity to dig out those glo-sticks and spend three days dancing like a robot on acid. (Amy McGuire)
